'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine,
The second Wednesday of every month Pleasant Grove Baptist Church gives out food to our local community. Each month more and more people are coming who are in need of help. Some are receiving a lot more than they came for. Some are receiving Christ.
By being faithful to the call of our Lord and providing for the "least of these" we are also able to reach them for Christ. This is a great ministry and a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus. But we can't do it alone.  We have been giving out a box of food that weighs about 19 lbs. That's not much and it doesn't go far. We know that times are hard and money is tight. People are losing their jobs and it gets tougher and tougher each month to make ends meet. We understand that even the thought of giving when you don't have is hard to conceive. But remember the widow! A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on." (Mar 12:42-44) Even $1 can help this ministry. We have made arrangements that allow us to purchase a 1lb bag of beans for $1. This can provide a family with at least a meal or two. The next time you sit down with your family to eat please remember the poor and hungry, please remember that you can help to give Foot for the Hungry.
