"He spake a parable unto them...that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” (Luke 18:1)
Our Lord is seeking a praying people who will not give up, relax, nor become weary in calling upon Him, people who continue to believe and trust and refuse to quit when the struggles get harder and life becomes more and more difficult."
Here are the four forms of praying performed in the New Testament:
- Individual or private praying.
- The praying of two in agreement
- The praying of two or three or more in groups
- The praying of congregations of people
Jesus teaches us “to pray” rather than to say your prayers — to pour out our troubles, complaints, needs and discouragements to Him. For centuries, God has answered he cries of His people who have trusted His promises and kept the faith despite hardships. We learn to pray by praying, just like we learn to do any other discipline in life. Never quit praying until Jesus comes.
We still are in need of intercessors who will pray and send notes of encouragement. You may sign up for your time in the Prayer Room. Instructions are there. Come who are suffering from illness need to follow the injunction of the Bible:
Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord Jesus. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another that you may be healed. The effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much. —James 5:13-16
